Chorchori

Dear Monalisa2112

I read all the recent recipes posted by you. This charchoDi is going to be damn good with Prawns and onion. Will try next friday..the weekly holiday , this part of the world.

If you could quantify  the sugar addition it will be great. For a bengali , it is no problem to add sugar to taste or sugar to sweeten, but others may add more than required
I will go through all other recepies slowly.

The Alu dum spice is new for me , ( ginger garlic but no onion) will try too.

Best regards

LABRA

Dear Monalisa2112
Many thanks for the recipe.  I was amazed with the quantitative approach. Normally I am sick of reading " Jeere-r GuDo andaj moton,  chini poriman moton etc" I dont know whose andaj they wirte about.. Actually over the years I had forgotten the Sombora to be used. So your article came handy . Sorry I made a little change , i.e , added the vegetables sequencially starting with highest softening point vegetable.
Let me go through the other dishes you have posted. Please do keep posting more and more traditional to exotic bengali dishes.
By the way if I am not in the office , I am in the kitchen. Because it is my hobby.

best regards

Mutton Curry

The taste was really amazing. The direction and narration is also good, I could feel the taste while rading.
I normally dont use pressure cooker , unless in a hurry. But your 20 min pressure recomendation , seems to be very high. Please try 20 min pressure on mutton , let me know the state of the mutton.
Will be looking forward to more recipies, some very simple type traditional bengali ones.

Gangotri - Visit to the famed shrine

Dear Biswas
I was waiting for your this leg of the blog, very well presented.
I would havedliked to see the names of the peaks in the photo feature.
See if you can put the names. If you can enhance the photos with a software, it will be great.
However if you have decided to keep the photos as shot, then its OK.

thanks

Of living loving and giving

Dear Gopa

Where were you all these days? I was just waiting eagerly for more of your creations. Nice to read another wonderful piece from you. All your poems give a direction to think of living, loving, caring, sharing etc. This must be life, I think.  Ultimately, I believe these matters prevail over other things like hate, sad feeling, anger, revenge etc.

Best regards and Ullash

What it is, if not, destiny?

Dear Gopa

Nice piece again. Actually, these words destiny, luck, fate are very mysterius words for me, can’t understand properly even now.

I never try to dig what the author ‘s philosophy is. So I was playing around with the word “destiny” . I replaced it with many words like fate, luck, Me, you, he, she and finally God.

It was  quite enjoyable and sometimes meaningless ( except when I replaced with God)

Please do write more and more .

I am now trying to understand your style of writing , and chosing of themes . Let me read more and more, then will think.

Dear Tanusree

Many thanks for your feed back. I am honoured that you read my blog. I am happy that you liked it in a revised form.

I am used to narrating incidents, stories face to face or in a letter,

Being very new, I need to address the writing to some one. I feel at home then.

I appreciate your curiosity to know the Korean words. I will tell you soon. These are common nouns. I am Waiting for your new postings

Story of deer, forest, you and me

Dear Gopa

 Happy conferencing to you

Many thanks for the encouraging comments.

Your doubt, “if it is really imagination", is quite well placed and not surprising too. It can’t be 100% imagination, you know, but mostly.

Yes it is my real name Ushnish Ghosh.  I am not Oriya, but no one can make out from my talks or writings unless I tell them.

I was born and brought up in a small sub-divisional town in Orissa. I leave it to you to guess as a quiz. It is located close to the largest sweet water lake of Orissa and to the North- Northwest you see the lovely Sapta-sajyaMountains. A small tributary of the Mahanadi flows through the town. I don’t know if the lake is still there. If you can’t guess, I will tell you of course. I am sure you will guess in seconds. I have a feeling, you are from Orissa, and especially your romantic poetry writing style gives the feeling.
I did my schooling in the small town and Pre-university from the famous RavenshawCollege.  My upbringing in Orissa and influence of rich Oriya culture, values, language, and romanticism has an ever lasting effect on me. I shifted out to Calcutta for studies and started working out side Orissa. The deer story back ground, dates back to the University days in Calcutta.
Finally we left Orissa in 1974. I do go there because best of my friends are still there and my heart too.

Your poems just came in, into Sulekha. But I am trying to resist the temptation of reading it now. I want to keep it for weekend tomorrow (Thursday), especial weekend treat. In this part of the world, where I am now, Friday is closed.
